BSNL JTO Recruitment Through GATE 2017

This exam is conducted to recruit the students for the post of Junior Telecom Officers.

Education Qualification for applying in JTO-Telecom:

  • You must possess Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology degree in any of the following disciplines from a recognized engineering college/university:
  • Telecommunication
  • Electronics
  • Radio
  • Computer
  • Electrical
  • Information Technology

Junior Telecom Officers are an important work requirement of a telecom organization like BSNL. There is a need for these officers in various territorial as well as functioning circles of the company. In BSNL JTO's are selected for selected from three disciplines of telecom, civil and electrical engineering. Selection of candidates for this post is done through a common entrance examination. Candidates who have completed graduation in engineering and technology in the following disciplines are eligible to apply for this exam. Aspirants are required to obtain the minimum qualifying marks as well as total qualifying marks in order to pass BSNL JTO.

The job profile of a Junior Telecom Officer in BSNL includes handling of core technical functions like network management, operation and maintenance of switches.

Age should not be more than 30 years of age on the closing date for receipt of applications.
Paper Pattern for BSNL JTO Exam :-
The examination will be of three hours duration with one question paper containing the following three sections:

For JTOs(Telecom)

Section-I : Engineering Stream : 50 questions
Section-II : Engineering Stream : 50 questions
Section-III : General Ability test : 20 questions –

BSNL Recruitment 2015 BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited), New Delhi has proclaimed to hire capable and deserving job seekers for the post of Junior Telecom Officer (Telecom). This recruitment is for PWD category contenders. The number of vacancies needed to be filled at the present moment is 29. Online application form can be filled by interested job seekers from 1st of December, 2015 to 10th of December, 2015. Other details regarding the recruitment are given below :

For JTOs(Electrical)

Section-I : Electrical Engineering Stream:50 questions
Section-II : Electrical Engineering Stream: 50 questions
Section-III : General Awareness: 20 questions
The question paper will be fully objective type with multiple options as answers to each question. The standard of papers in Engineering subjects will be that of Engineering examination of an indian university.

Particulars of BSNL Recruitment 2015 :

Name of the Position- Junior Telecom Officer (Telecom)

Sum Total of Positions Offered- 29 Vacancies Details of Remuneration- Job hunters recruited for the vacant post of Junior Telecom Officer (Telecom) will receive remuneration as per the norms followed by organization.

Limitation of Age- Contenders applying for the specified position should not be less than 18 years of age and should not be more than 30 years as on 10th of December, 2015. Relaxation of age limit will be applicable as per the rules.

Pre- requisites of Education- Job hunters should have obtained Graduation degree in Engineering from a renowned University / Institute in the stream of Computer / Electrical / Information Technology / Telecommunications / Electronics / Radio / Instrumentation.

Criteria for Recruitment- Recruitment of applicants will be based on the Online Test / Interview.

Registration Charges- INR 750/- is the application fee and it should be paid through online mode by using Debit Card / Credit Card / Internet Banking.

Manner of Applying : Online application form can be filled by interested job seekers through the official web portal of BSNL : externalexam.bsnl.co.in or bsl.co.in . Contenders must fill the online application form and after uploading soft copies of necessary documents it should be submitted as per the guidelines mentioned in the official notification.

Syllabus for BSNL JTO Exam

SECTION-I

  • Materials and Components - Structure and properties of Electronic Engineering materials, Conductors, Semiconductors and Insulators, Magnetic, Ferroelectric, Piezoelectric, Ceramic, Optical and Superconducting materials. Passive components and characteristics, Resistors, Capacitors and Inductors; ferrites, Quartz crystal, Ceramic resonators, Electromagnetic and Electromechanical components.

  • Physical Electronics, Electron Devices and ICs - Electrons and holes in Semiconductors, Carrier Statistics, Mechanics of current flow in a semi-conductor, Hall effect; Junction theory; Different types of diodes and their characteristics; Bipolar Junction transistor, Field effect transistors, Power switching devices like SCRs, CTOs, power MOSFETs; Basics of ICs-bipolar, MOS and CMOS types; basics of Opto Electronics.

  • Network theory -Network analysis techniques: Network theorem, trans cient and steady state sinusoidal response, Transmission criteria: delay and rise time Elmore’s and other definition, effect of cascading. Elements of network synthesis.

  • Electromagnetic Theory - Transmission lines: basic theory, standing waves, m atching applications, microstrip lines; Elements of antenna theory.

  • Elecronic Measurements and instrumentation Basic concepts, standards and error analysis, Measurements of basic electrical quantities and parameters, Electronic measuring instruments an d their principles of working: analog and digital, comparison, Characteristics, applications. Transducers; Electronic measurements of non – electrical quantities like temperature, Pressure, h umidity etc. Basics of telemetry for industrial use.

  • Power Electronics - Power semiconductor devices, Thyristor, Power transistor, MOSFETS, Characteristics and operation. AC to DC convertors; 1 – Phase and 3 – p hase DC to DC Convertors AC regulators. Thyristor controlled reactors, switched capacitor n etworks. Inverters: Single – phase and 3 –Phase. Pulse width modulation. Sinusoidal modulation with uniform sampling. Switched mode power supplies.

SECTION-II

  • Analog Electronic Circuits - Transistor biasing and stabilization, Small Signal analysis. Power amplifiers. Frequency response, Wide band techniques, Feedback amplifiers. Oscillators. Rectifiers and power supplies. Operational Amplifier, other linear integrated circuits and applications. Pulse shaping circuits and waveform generators.

  • Digital Electronic Circuits - Transistor as a switching element; Boolean algebra, simplification of Boolean functions, Karnaugh Map and applications, IC Logic gates and their characteristics; IC logic families; DTL, TTL, ECL, NMOS, PMOS and CMOS gates and their comparison; Combinational logic circuits; half adder, full adder; Digital Compartor; Multiplexer Demutliplexer, ROM and their applications. Flip-flops, R-S, J-K, D and T flip-flops; Different types of counters and registers; waveform generators, A/D and D/A convertors, Semiconductor memories.

  • Control systems - Transient and steady state response of control sys tems; Effect of feedback on stability and sensitivity, Root locus techniques; Frequency response analysis, Concepts of gain and phase margins; Constant-M and Constant-N Nichol’s Chart, Approximation of transient response from Constant-N Nichol’s Chart; Approximation of transient response from closed loop frequency response, design of Control systems, Compensators; Industrial controllers.

  • Communication systems - Basic information theory; Modulation and detection in analogue and digital systems; Sampling and data reconstruction, Quantization & Co ding; Time division and frequency division multiplexing; Equalisation, Optical communication; in free space & fibre optic; propagation of signals at HF, VHF, UHF and microwave frequency; Satellite communication.

  • Microwave Engineering - Microwave Tubes and solid state devices, Microwave generation and amplifiers, Waveguides and other Microwave Components and Circu its, Microstrip circuits, microwave antennas, Microwave Measurements, MASERS LASERS; Mi crowave propogation, Microwave Communication Systems-terrestrial and satellite based.

  • Computer Engineering - Number Systems; Data representation, Programming; Elements of a high level programming language PASCAL/C; use of basic data st ructures; Fundamentals of computer architecture processor design; Control unit design; Memory organization ; Personal computers and their typical uses.

  • Microprocessors - Microprocessor architecture – Instruction set and simple assembly language programming. Interfacing for memory and I/O. applications of Mic roprocessors in Telecommunications and power system.

SECTION-III

General Ability Test -
The candidates comprehension and understanding of General English shall be tested through simple exercises. Questions on knowledge of current events and of such matter of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspe cts as may be expected of an educated person. Questions will also be included on events and devel opments in Telecommunications, History of India and Geography. These will be of a nature, which can be answered without special study by an educated person.

BSNL Recruitment 2016 of Junior Engineer (Erstwhile TTA) from external candidates

Apply online at website: - http://www.externalexam.bsnl.co.in from 10.07.2016 to 10.08.2016

The prescribed examination fee Rs 1000/- for OC/OBC candidates and Rs 500/- for SC/ST candidates shall be paid through online mode i.e. Internet Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card only.

Age:- Candidate shall not be below 18 years and not exceed 30 years as on last date of receipt of online application from the candidates (as on 10th August 2016).

BSNL Exam for Junior Engineer (Erstwhile TTA) from external candidates Pattern:-

The pattern of the question paper will be multiple choice objective types with negative marking. All candidates will undergo a common multiple choice examination of three hours duration consisting of the following three parts:-

Part I - General Ability Test - 20 questions - 20 marks

Part II - Basic Engineering - 90 questions - 90 marks

Part III - Specialization - 90 questions - 90 marks

Total - 200 questions - 200 marks

Time: - 10.00 am to 1.00 pm

The minimum qualifying marks for exam of the above three parts of the question paper will be 30% for candidates belonging of OC category and 20% for candidates belonging to SC/ST category, further the minimum qualifying marks in aggregate will be 40% for candidates belonging to OC category and 33% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category. Candidates obtain less than minimum qualifying marks in any of the three parts as well as in aggregate shall not be considered for inclusion in the merit list.
